What we collect
- Enquiry data: name, email, phone number, postcode, service requested, and any details you include when using our contact form or calling us.
- Job records: property address, work carried out, certificates issued, invoices and payments — kept for our legal obligations under HMRC and NICEIC record-keeping requirements.
- Technical data: anonymous website analytics (page views, device type, approximate location) used to improve the site.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a written quote.
- To carry out and invoice for the work we've agreed with you.
- To issue and register electrical certificates with NICEIC and your local building control.
- To keep records required by law (HMRC, our insurers, our accreditation bodies).
Lawful basis
We process enquiry and contract data on the lawful basis of contract (to respond and provide a service you asked for) and, where records must be kept, legal obligation. Website analytics rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining and improving this site.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share only what's required with: NICEIC (for certification and Competent Persons notification), your local building control, our accountant and insurers, and — where you've asked us to — payment processors, chargepoint manufacturers, or the OZEV grant scheme.
Retention
Enquiry data is kept for up to 24 months from your last contact. Job records, certificates and invoices are kept for a minimum of 6 years as required by HMRC, and longer where accreditation or building control requires it.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased where the law allows, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email de.electrical@icloud.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
